This is the first in the New Breed Vampire Series by Lucy Eldritch. In this book she introduces us to Robert James. Robert is a student in university and he is bitten and turned into a new breed of vampire.This is a the story of Robert finding his way as a vampire, living up to his destiney as the first in a new breed of vampire, and surviving the threats of the Dawn Warriors that are set out to destroy him. Will he succeed or will he be killed along with all of those he once cared for.
Ms. Eldritch writes with flare and if you can work your way around of few britishisms that I found difficult to grasp from time to time. Her characters are strong and well developed and draw you in if you like this type of story. I had some difficulty but it isn't my normal read from time to time I like to pull myself out of my reading zone.
If you are looking for a different kind of vampire story, I would recommend this to you. It is a bit gruesome in places but it's an interesting read. Warning - the book does end with a cliffhanger of an ending which may compell me to have to read the next installment when it becomes available.

good plot development. Very enjoyable to read.
I absolutely loved this book! Fast-paced and packed with action, this book sunk it's fangs into me and wouldn't let go until the end - then it gave me a good shake! The complexity of the vampire society is very intricate and detailed. The storyline was awesome, the dialogue perfect and the characters were very complex and entertaining. I loved that while this book was stuffed with action, it was still light-hearted and wildly entertaining with tons of twists! There's quite a cliffhanger at the end that left me biting my nails and I'm frantically awaiting the sequel now!
