This is the first book i have read in the fringe killers series, and i was pleasantly surprised that at no time did i feel i was missing out on the plot due to a lack of back knowledge. The characters main 2 characters are interesting, and have a great dynamic between them, and perhaps Jamie and Skip aren't your normal detectives they seem to get the job done.
The author has handled the difficult subject of domestic abuse quite effectively, and in what i consider to be a sensitive manner, whilst not shying away from the gritty realism of the situations that occur.
The story builds well throughout, with good descriptive writing and reasonably believable characters, it doesn't go quite where you expect, which is of course a good thing, as no body wants a predictable plot.
All in all I really enjoyed the read, and look forward to picking up another fringe killers novel.
This book deals with a difficult subject.It was well written and done tastefully and tactfully.You will love being a fly on the wall and riding along with Jamie and Skip.There are laughable moments and times of horror. You will be appalled at the cruelty that lies within mankind.
Jack Wallen, is an inventive writer.He makes you feel for the victims and gives you well rounded charters to hate.It is very satisfying to see the perpetrators of such hateful acts get what they deserve.Well Done! Bravo!
We know Jack Wallen as the author of the I Zombie I series, and the really awesome Ya book Among You, maybe some of you love, like me his dark and twisted Nameless Saga . But the present book is something else, because it deals with the real Horror of the place where each one should feel safe, your own home!
But what would you do if the person that was once the sun of your life is now your enemie and each day is only marked down by suferings and his cruelty ? Would you run and hide, would you go and ask for help, would you even kill him, just to make sure that the nightmare that turned daymare is over? And that it will stay away? Or , would you do what most woman do, stay , endure, think that it may be your fault and ven cover up and made up excuses for the Person that turns your life into hell on earth?
See, it is a taff subject and Jack Wallen deals with it in his own way. Even if this is not usualy the Kind of book you would pick up i think that you should give it a chance , have a glympse at lives ugly side....
I really liked the other Fringe killer books. As soon as I read the beginning of this one I knew what was going to happen. What can you do? Not every book is going to be the best one yet.
